GTB provides opportunities for continued learning with public workshops being presented throughout each year by local and international experts in their field. We always aim to provide the highest quality continuing education, training and development opportunities. Our professional development events provide a community environment where specialised knowledge and experience may be developed and shared.


 In 2017 GTB presented the following well-received programs:

Intimacy: a workshop in couples therapy  – presented by Sean Tonnet, Gestalt therapist and experienced couples counsellor. 

Cultivating a diverse community: values based strategies in the contemporary culture – presented by Mark Fairfield, Executive Director of The Relational Centre in Los Angeles.

The Wisdom and Magic of Play – presented by Denise Richman, experienced psychotherapist in California, specialising in therapy with children, and faculty trainer for the West Coast Institute for Gestalt Therapy for Children and Adolescents.

GTB was also pleased to promote workshops from experienced Gestalt therapists:

Rosemary Bower and Christine Mueller, Introducing Gestalt therapy to non-Gestalt social welfare practitioners and students

Zjamal Xanitha, presenting on Improvisational Gestalt therapy.

Gestalt Australia and New Zealand (GANZ) professional development:

Dignity: a sense of dignity and shame – presented by Lynne Jacobs,

psychotherapist, author, co-founder of the Pacific Gestalt Institute

and Training and Supervising analyst at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles

11th GANZ Conference: The Aesthetics of Care.

What Who Registration


Payment and Refund procedures for GTB Workshops

  1. It is an expectation that participants will book their place and pay the cost of the workshop prior to attendance;
  2. Participants will receive a full refund of their payment of the Workshop fee if notice is given to GTB of non attendance up to 5 days prior to the workshop;
  3. At the discretion of the Directors a $40 administration charge will be levied if notice is given of inability to attend less than 5 days prior to the workshop. However full payment will be expected if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the commencement of the workshop.
  4. Additional to this GTB may need to recoup funds for external facilitators and therefore charge an additional fee for cancellation after numbers have been confirmed with the external facilitator. Participants who cancel their enrolment will be informed if this fee applies at the earliest convenience.
