Admissions & Entry

Yes. We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, provided you meet the occupational and personal requirements outlined in our Admission Policy.

No, we are not registered with CRICOS.

Admission is based on a combination of academic qualifications, work and life experience, relational aptitude, and personal readiness for graduate-level study. We look for students who demonstrate commitment, integrity, and the capacity for self-reflection.

Suitability is assessed through your application, supporting documents, references, and an interview. We look for evidence of relational awareness, academic readiness, reflective capacity, and readiness to engage in experiential learning.

Not at all. Many students start with the Graduate Certificate to explore Gestalt therapy and then decide whether to continue into the Master’s program.

Course Structure & Learning

Progression into the Master’s program is by invitation, based on successful completion of the Graduate Certificate and assessment of personal and academic readiness.

Study groups are small, peer-based groups within your year cohort. They provide opportunities for reflection, practice, and support, with educators visiting as needed.

Expect to engage in around 3–5 hours per week for reading, assignments, and study group work, in addition to weekend tuition and residentials.

The Graduate Certificate is a one-year introduction to Gestalt therapy and provides a pathway into the Master’s program. The Master’s program builds on this foundation, developing professional Gestalt therapists over four years, with clinical practice, supervision, and advanced experiential learning.

Residentials & Practical Learning

Yes. Residentials are a core part of the program, providing intensive, experiential learning and an opportunity to practice therapy skills under supervision.

Residentials are immersive and can be personally challenging, but they are fully supported by educators and structured to ensure a safe, collaborative, and growth-focused environment.

Residentials are six-day immersive experiences held off-campus in a rural setting. They combine seminars, experiential group work, seminars, and reflective practice to deepen learning and strengthen the community of learners.

Educators provide supervision, guidance, and debriefing. Students are encouraged to support one another in a relational and reflective way, fostering a strong learning community.

Clinical Practice & Supervision

No. Students develop therapeutic skills gradually, starting with peer practice and supported clinical placements.

Clinical practice begins in Year 2 of the Master’s program. Students start with peer practice, then progress to working with clients under supervision, gradually building confidence and skill.

We work with students to identify suitable clients and provide supervision, ensuring you can complete your clinical practice requirements regardless of location.

Students receive individual supervision and supervision in small groups, including live observation and video review, with experienced Gestalt therapists.

Personal Growth &Therapy

Yes. Personal therapy is a core part of learning to be a therapist. It allows you to reflecton your own patterns, develop self-awareness, and engage fully in relational learning with clients.

Therapy sessions are linked to reflective assignments and experiential learning exercises, helping you integrate personal insights into professional practice.

Educators and supervisors provide guidance and support, and your personal therapy sessions offer a safe space to explore challenges as they arise
