Gestalt Therapy Brisbane is committed to training competent, self-aware, and relational Gestalt therapists. Our programs are designed for individuals who are ready to engage deeply with theory, practice, and personal growth in a supportive learning community.

Academic Requirements
Master of Gestalt Therapy
Applicants are expected to hold an undergraduate (Bachelor) or postgraduate qualification in fields such as social work, psychology, counselling, or other allied disciplines.
Alternative pathways
Applicants with advanced diplomas, diplomas, or higher-level vocational qualifications in relevant areas, combined with extensive work and life experience, may also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate their potential to undertake study at Master level, which will be assessed by GTB’s Academic Leadership Team.
Recognition of prior learning
Graduates of approved Gestalt institutes may apply for recognition of prior learning.
Occupational Requirements
Applicants should be employed in or intending to work in fields such as:
- Counselling, psychotherapy, or mental health
- Teaching or education
- Nursing or human services
- Human resource management or related professional areas
Personal Requirements
Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate:
- Self-awareness
- Ability to give and receive personal feedback
- Capacity to relate to others in a reflective and receptive way
- Comfort working dialogically and relationally
- Understanding and practice of ethical behaviour
- Commitment to the program and ability to manage the rigours of graduate study
- Proficiency in English, sufficient to work with clients or students
