The Master of Gestalt Therapy builds on the Graduate Certificate and provides advanced, experiential training in Gestalt theory, practice, and methodology. Graduates become qualified Gestalt therapists, ready to work with individuals, couples, families, groups, communities, and organisations, and are eligible for professional membership with PACFA and other associations.

Weekend Tuition
- Seven weekends across the year (approximately once a month)
- 695 hours of face-to-face tuition
- Focus on integrating theory, experiential learning, and live supervised therapeutic practice
Clinical Practice & Supervision
- Hands-on work with clients under guidance
Study Groups
Additional 30 hours of study in small groups
Residential
- Six days in a rural off-campus setting
- Learning framed by contemporary Gestalt principles and adult learning methods
- Emphasis on community, connection, and experiential practice
Personal Therapy
- Minimum 10 one-to-one sessions with an external Gestalt therapist each year
- Supports reflection on personal learning and professional development
Assignments
- A range of assignments in written and other media designed to deepen reflection, theory and practice knowledge
- Capstone Projects: Year 4 literature review and applied leadership project
Course Overview
Year 2
Step into the therapist role as you deepen your understanding of Gestalt concepts and methodology. Build confidence in your presence, awareness, and ability to work relationally with clients.
Year 3
Strengthen your therapeutic practice and integrate practice-based knowledge with advanced Gestalt theory. Expand your skills in working with diverse client groups and presenting concerns.
Year 4
Refine and consolidate your clinical practice while exploring common therapeutic challenges and diverse practice settings. Complete a literature review and a leadership project to support your transition into the world as a Gestalt therapist.
