Each year of study includes a six-day residential program in semester two, held off-campus in a peaceful rural setting. Residentials bring together all GTB students and educators for an immersive, experiential learning experience that complements weekend tuition and allows students to deeply engage with theory, practice, and personal development.

Learning takes place in year cohorts, mixed-year groups, and whole-community activities, combining structured experiential exercises, seminars, discussions, and open explorative processes. Students are supported by educators in reflecting on their experiences, building self-awareness, and understanding how their strengths and limitations may impact their work with clients.

The residential is a space for intensive practice of Gestalt therapy skills, including one-to-one therapy, group facilitation, and professional feedback. Senior students have opportunities to practice and be assessed, while other students learn through observation and collaborative engagement.

Designed around contemporary Gestalt therapy and adult learning principles, the residential fosters a supportive, community-focused environment, helping students grow as therapists while contributing to the wider learning community and the future professional Gestalt community.
